Director, Internet Mail Consortium
Hoffman is the Director of the Internet Mail Consortium, the industry trade association for Internet mail software and service providers. At IMC, he has written many mail-related Internet standards, as well as position papers on the Internet mail industry on such topics as spam and secure email. He is also the author of 20 computer books including Netscape for Dummies and Perl For Dummies.

Levine is board member of the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial E-mail, a user advocacy group, Levine also runs the Network Abuse Clearinghouse, a free service that helps Internet users report on-line abusive behavior. An expert on the Internet and computer languages, Levine has written or co-authored many books, including the best-selling Internet for Dummies, with over two million copies and derivative titles in print. Levine is a popular lecturer to corporations and industry groups and consults on the Internet and related computer topics.
