Dan Kohn

Skymoon Ventures
Habeas Chairman Dan Kohn is a general partner with Skymoon Ventures, a seed-stage fund focusing on semiconductors and telecoms infrastructure. Before joining Skymoon, Kohn helped manage several telecom firms controlled by Craig McCaw, including XO Communications, Nextel, ICO, and Teledesic.

Kohn was founder and CEO of NetMarket, one of the first internet companies, which he subsequently sold to Cendant. NetMarket set up the first music CD store and conducted the first secure commercial transaction on the web. Kohn was also formerly the interim CEO of Pedestal Networks, where he helped the company grow from 0 to 50 employees, raise $14 million and ship its first product. Kohn also currently sits on the boards of Pedestal Networks, Pixonics, and Sproqit.

Kohn received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Computer Science from the Honors program of Swarthmore College, and studied at Exeter and the London School of Economics.

Des Cahill

Habeas, Inc.
Des Cahill brings extensive executive-level experience in marketing, sales and operations from some of America's best-known technology companies-Apple Computer, America Online, Netscape-and from some successful startups-Autonomy, BridgeSpan and eFax.com. Cahill is responsible for all company operations and is a member of the board of directors.

Immediately prior to joining Habeas, Cahill was senior vice president of corporate strategy at BridgeSpan, a Benchmark-Sequoia real estate-services firm, where he was in charge of all marketing, business development and corporate development activities. As a member of the original management team, Cahill helped grow the company to 300 employees and $40M in annual revenues. Cahill was also founder and principal of Element Group, a strategic sales and marketing consultancy working both with startups and major players in Silicon Valley.

Cahill received his MBA from Apple University/San Jose University and his bachelor-of-arts degree in economics from Union College in Schenectady, New York.

Maha Ibrahim

Canaan Partners
Maha Ibrahim joined Canaan Partners in 2000 and focuses on infrastructure, software, and data communication investments. Prior to joining Canaan, Ibrahim held numerous roles at Qwest Communications including Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of eBusiness and Internet Operations.

Earlier in her career Ibrahim was a management consultant with both the Boston Consulting Group and Price Waterhouse. Ibrahim received a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT.

David Lane

Diamondhead Ventures
For the past 25 years David Lane has created, built and financed information technology companies. During the past 20 years he has managed investment funds totaling in excess of $2 billion.

During his investment career, David has sponsored more than twenty investments in the enterprise software, communications, semiconductor and information technology services areas.

Some of David's prior venture capital investments included: Harmonic, Inc. (NASDAQ: HLIT), TriQuint Semiconductor (TQNT), NexGen (IPO, acquired by AMD), Viewlogic Systems (IPO, acquired by Synopsis), Harbridge Merchant Services (acquired by First Data Corporation), and Entercept Security Technology (acquired by McAfee).

David earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School and his BSEE from the University of Southern California. He is also on the Board of The Child and Family Institute, a non-profit organization.
