The Habeas Certified Sender web seal is a small graphic image which may be placed placed on the web site of a Habeas Certified Sender. The Habeas Certified Sender web seal is intended to assure subscribers and potential subscribers that the sender is certified by Habeas to be reputable and follows all practices listed in its privacy policy. The Habeas Certified Sender web seal displays a sender's status as a responsible and trustworthy emailer.
The Habeas Certified Sender web seal is also a hyperlink. Clicking on the seal routes the user to a Habeas web page. This web page confirms the sender's status as a Habeas Certified Sender, and provides information about the IP addresses and domains which are certified. This mechanism prevents fraudulent use of the seal. This web page also provides a hyperlink to a web page where a user can provide feedback.
When a sender website displays the Habeas Certified Sender web seal, email subscribers and potential email subscribers can be assured that the sender uses best practices in email. Consumers can subscribe to the sender's email list with confidence.
Senders should expect increased conversion rates when posting the web seal on their email subscription pages, capturing customers they may otherwise have lost. Consumers are able to share feedback on the sender's email with Habeas, which is in turn shared with the sender to help improve sender email practices and results.
As the name suggests, all Habeas Certified Senders may use the web seal. Senders not certified by Habeas may not use the seal.
The Habeas Certified Sender web seal should not be included in email messages. A malicius sender could obtain a copy of the seal and then use it in his or her campaigns, making it appear that the messages originated from the Habeas Certified Sender.
